The general admission requirements for foreign student
applicants in the Catanduanes State Colleges are the submission of:
- 1. Original Transcript of Record
- 2. Personal Data Sheet
- 3. Affidavit of Support
- 4. Alien certificate of registration
- 5. Results of Test in English as a Foreign Language (TEOEFEL)
- 6. Student permit
Admission of Foreign Students
Foreign students who have graduated from high
school abroad may be admitted to freshman courses in the Catanduanes State
Colleges if they meet the following specific requirements in addition
to the general admission requirements for collegiate students:
- 1. Certification of completion of a secondary curriculum where the applicant had has secondary education.
- 2. Certification of proficiency in English based on the TEOFEL score (for non-native speakers of English).
- 3. Qualifying CSCCAT score.
English Proficiency Test (TEOFEL)
Foreign students whose native language or whose medium of instruction
in the secondary school is not English should arrange to take the TEOFEL.
A TEOFEL score of at least 480 is required. An intensive English course
should also be required of such students. Information about this test
including the place and date of admission maybe obtained by writing directly
to TEOFEL Education Testing Service, Priceton, New Jersey, 08540, USA,
and at U.P. Diliman, Quezon City. The applicant must request that a copy
of his test result be sent to the Office Registration and Admission Office,
Catanduanes State Colleges, Virac, Catanduanes, Philippines,4800.
Accreditation
All college units earned from a recognized
college/university will be duly accredited in the CSC, provided that the
admission requirements and the following conditions are met:
- 1. That the school from where the credits were earned is recognized by the government. At the discretion of the college dean a validation examination may be required for subjects with rating below 2.5 or its equivalent before accepting them for credit.
- 2. That the course or subjects for which the credits are claimed are in option of the college dean equivalent to the content, coverage, or have the same description as the corresponding subjects in the curriculum offered in the College.
- 3. That the number of units is the same as the unit of the equivalent subject in the Catanduanes State Colleges.
- 4. That the rules on sequence of subjects (pre-requisites) in the curriculum are observed. The student will not be allowed to enroll in a subject, the pre-requisite of which taken elsewhere have not been validated or repeated.
Reserved Officer Training Corps
All physically fit Filipino male students should comply
with the basic course under the ROTC program during the first two years
of residence in the Catanduanes State Colleges. This is a requirement
for graduation.
The following however, are exempted from undergoing
ROTC:
- 1. Those with permanent physically disability.
- 2. Commissioned officers and enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
- 3. Ex-servicemen of the AFP and those of the allied armed forces who have completed at least six (6) months active duty.
- 4. Enlisted reservists (trainee graduates).
- 5. Aliens
- 6. Others as maybe determined by a Board of Officers to be designated by the ROTC superintendent.
